Gibson / ES-335 / 1958 / Sunburst / Guitar
Here's a beautiful very early '58 ES-335 - the second earliest I've had. All the early features-shallow neck angle, big heel, no neck binding, thin top. Condition is collector grade 9+with no issues at all. That line near the bass side f-hole is not a crack-it's a mineral streak in the wood. There is no checking anywhere in the finish. There is some finish wear to the back of the neck but mostly at the edge near the fingerboard probably from a capo. Original frets in good shape. Sealed PAFs. All original. I have the low profile ABR-1 which is usable but is not mounted to preserve it. These are usually bent beyond repair or broken. There is a milled ABR-1 no wire on it now. Nice brown Stone case. They only made 267 sunburst 58's and who knows how many unbound ones. Probably around 150. So don't snooze if an unbound, uncracked 58 is missing from your collection. These don't come up that often in this condition.
