This is a VERY NICE vintage original 1962 Gibson ES-335, original stop tail, never any Bigsby, no breaks or repairs finished in desirable cherry red with period hard case that is a total bargain because of a couple of issues...

Everything is in superb condition and is original apart from at some stage it has had a clear overspray, evidence of which can be found inside the f holes. All hardware is correct except slightly later tuners (double line Klusons) and it has had other tuners fitted at one stage too, plus the tailpiece is a repro.

Pickups are 1 x PAF (but label is missing - never had one) and one x PAT number. Covers have never been off and solder is unbroken. All pots I can read date to late 1961 and serial number is 59693 which is 1962. Case is the correct black one with the yellow lining but may be a couple of years later than 1962 but has been with this guitar for some time.

As you can see in the photos, it really is in exceptional shape. The original frets hardly have any wear at all and there is no fingerboard wear either. It has just had a pro setup and really is a great player and a marvellous sounding guitar… There are just a few minor dings here and there plus a wear spot on the back, upper horn. Finish is the early type faded watermelon style and this may have an early FON number but I cannot quite read it.

Nut width is the wide 43mm, neck profile is fairly slim and it just plays beautifully - I find it difficult to put down. I am sure the new owner will not be disappointed especially at this rather cool price.

There has never been any other tailpiece, Bigsby or similair on this guitar and I can assure you it is a good one with the true vintage vibe. Only other issue is the strap buttons are straplocks and there is a filled screw hole on the back of the headstock where an old strap pin must have been.
