Gibson / ES-335 / 1963 / Cherry Red / Guitar

This is a VERY NICE vintage original 1963 Gibson ES-335, original stop tail, with no neck repairs or breaks, finished in desirable original cherry red with original hard case that is a total players bargain because of a few issues.
It really is a great player and you can see by the condition it has been played because of this fact, it has not been left idle in it’s case for any length of time. Cherry red finish is original as is most of the hardware and it even has the original 1963 Lifton style case with the yellow lining. Factory original stop tail too finished in the most desirable cherry red.
It once had a Bigsby installed which has left some filled holes by the strap button and two on the top all of which have been expertly filled and now look like dings. In addition to this, there are a couple of other small, filled screw holes on the top which may have had some lettering or small additional pickguard mounted - again these have been brilliantly filled to look like dings (see pictures) and are hard to spot unless you look closely.
All original finish but back of neck has some clear overspray, probably done some time ago and may be removed if you don’t like it. There is a wear area on the side at the bottom bout that has been touched up (see photos). The pickguard mounting bracket has been changed, the bridge pickup has been out then put back in, both have pat number stickers on them and harness plus all pots are original. I think the tailpiece studs have been replaced as even though they are correct, nickle types they just too clean compared to the rest of the nickle plated parts in that area. Original ABR-1 bridge works fine but one side of the top is worn by sweat where your hand would rest on it. Oh and one of the latches on the case is broken. Think thats about it!
As you can see in the photos, it has had it’s fair share of dings and dongs and has been played - it is no museam piece! It does deserve to be played though and there are no issues at all in that respect...
It has the classic 1963 neck profile that the re-issues try to emulate and just plays beautifully - I find it difficult to put down. I am sure the new owner will not be disappointed especially at this rather cool price.
There has never been any headstock breaks or similair neck breaks on this guitar and I can assure you it is a good one with the true vintage vibe.
