Gibson / ES-335 / 1965 / Sunburst / Guitar
The worst kept secret in the world of 335's? Simple-the best deal is a big neck '65. They didn't go to the narrow nut until about midyear so there are a fair number of these around. Look for nickel hardware like this one has and a 17 degree headstock angle (like this one has). Find those elements and you have, essentially a 64 with a trapeze for about $7000 less. This near mint sunburst has chrome pickup covers (first part to be changed to chrome) but the bridge, tailpiece, tuners and pick guard bracket are all nickel. No T-tops in 65 just early patent numbers. This neck has some serious chunkiness to it--.86" at the first fret and 1" at the 12th. That's almost as big as a 58. Original hard case in excellent condition.
