Well, it looks like blondes do have more fun- you can give us anything made by Gibson in the mid-late '90s and it will bring a smile to our faces. I was on a mini guitar safari and standing in the spare bedroom of a gentleman's house when I spotted this case in the corner. "What's that?" I asked him and when he responded with, "An old 335 Dot," my heart did a little pitter patter. Folks, I opened the case and there before me lay this blonde ES-335 and as always happens, a smile crept across my face. I absolutely love this era of Gibson guitars!
I got this one back to the Elkcave and as I hoped, it did not disappoint. The flamed maple is beautiful, the original pickups are even and well-voiced and the guitar is in excellent condition. The neck is just right- not a baseball bat, but not '60s slim either. It's a complete and versatile guitar, whether you're a Blues guy or you want to jump off the top of a P.A. with everything on 10.
We've had this one set up by our tech extraordinaire, "El Jefe" and restrung it with fresh strings. There are some light belt marks on the back and some pick swirls on the pickguard, but overall, this girl is neat and tidy. The case has also been cleaned and detailed so when it arrives, your only job will be to plug up and play!
