This is without a doubt one of the finest guitars we have had here. What’s more it is the oh so desirable, 1959 Gibson ES-335 TD, it’s a 1959 (yes - the one everyone wants!) and it has the classic ’59 neck, brown Lifton case and the icing on the top is 2 x unmolested, double white bobbin PAF pickups..
This is a near MINT condition original 1959 Gibson ES-335 TD + original Lifton 5 latch pink/brown case that was made in 1959 and looks like it is only 5 years old and not 56 years! Probably one of the finest one’s out there and a total invstment piece.
Please have a good look at the photos you will see for yourself the amazing condition this guitar is in. The only marks I can find is some tarnishing in places on the nickle hardware that can probably can be removed and two dings on the side top that are clearly pictured. There is no checking, harware is still quite gleaming and no buckle rash or scratches either - quite unreal and difficult to appreciate unless you see it in person.
Included is a lovely, original Lifton brown/pink hardshell case that also is in quite amazing condition.
100% original in every way apart from a very good refret. Pots date to 7th week of 1959, serial number is mid 1959 - A30392, neck is classic ’59 profile, all wiring intact with undisturbed solder joints everywhere. Un-molested PAF pickups with both stickers still intact and both are DOUBLE WHITE BOBBINS - how much are those worth…!
Rare to see for sale in the UK an ES-335 that is:
a) 1959 (THE year) b) double white PAF’sl and c) near MINT
This means if you were looking for one of these, it is your lucky day as you will probably not find a finer one.
If you do want to play it I can assure you it will not disappoint. It has a nice low action and both original PAF’s are evenly balanced with exceptional clarity and bite.
