Gibson / ES-335 TDC / 1963 / Cherry / Guitar
Classic, Mickey Mouse ears adorn this lovely, 1963 Gibson ES-335 TDC that is a superb player and a superb sounding tone machine that with the correct amp, can really sing…
It’s a cherry red, it’s an original stop tail and it’s reasonably priced - read on.
By no means mint, this guitar has certainly seen some action. The finish is wonderfully worn, with some nice subtle buckle rash on the back. Theres only a few minor touch ups by the strap button covering where the different tailpiece was at some stage, micro switch (just by the pickguard) and at the back of the headstock where it had Grovers sometime ago. All hardware and electrics are correct, as is the very nice, early ‘63 wide pebble black case.
The neck is well worn into that comfortable feel that only years of use vcan produce. The binding has been repaired between the 12-15 fret but there’s is plenty of life left in the frets. The tuners have been changed at some stage to Grovers but a set of Kluson have been reinstated and the holes filled. There are no tuning issues. Looks like it has a slightly later pickguard too.
A very nice example and a classic example of one of our more popular vintage guitars…
