Gibson / ES-335 TDC / 1963 / Cherry Red / Guitar
Classic, Mickey Mouse ears adorn this lovely, 1963 Gibson ES-335 TDC that is a superb player and a superb sounding tone machine that with the correct amp, can really sing…
The only things we can see that have been changed or replaced on this stunner is one of the pickup rings - the bridge one which is a slightly later, 70’s Gibson M9 ring. There is no finish issues, no touch ups or over spray anywhere and all other hardware and electrics are correct, as is the very nice, early ‘63 wide pebble black case.
Both pickups are nice and strong and really do sing as much as you would like, or wish them to. They have never been rewound and are the same as 1961/2 PAF’s aside from the stickers of course. If tone is your quest then this guitar should satisfy on all transcendental levels that can exist in the world of ES tone..
As you can see in the pics, it is not mint but has not been abused either, in fact I would call it a strong excellent plus condition. There are a few dings and marks here and there, a bit of fading but nothing too serious at all and nothing which does not distract from this classic, cherry beauty.
Frets and fingerboard have no drastic wear, just a little bit on the lower frets but there is loads of meat left before it needs and fret work done. Action is excellent and like most good ES’s you come across, they often seem like they can play themselves.
A very nice example and a classic example of one of our more popular vintage guitars…
