Gibson / ES-335 TDC / 1964 / Cherry Red / Guitar
Fancy a Clapton spec 1964 ES-335 in cherry with a nice medium fat classic 1964 neck profile and wide nut but quite cannot stretch to the near mint one we have at £17k5..? Have a look at this one then. Same guitar, same specs apart from one fairly obvious difference. Instead of a stop tail you get a cool, factory fitted whammy bar and save yourself an even cooler £6,500. Isn’t it a shame vintage Strats are not priced like this…
This is an identical guitar to this one aside from that vast expanse of nickel plated, lyre engraved whammyness the strings attach themselves to. It is the same year, mid 1964 and has that same lovely neck profile that is, along with a ‘59, one of the most sought after made by Gibson of that era.
It is in excellent condition and plays like a blinder. The only issues we can see is the bridge pickup cover has been off/on but not for a rewind and the nylon saddles have been replaced. It has original frets that are in good shape, correct hardware and electrics and also has correct black tolex case with orange lining. Tuners are single line, double ring Kluson and with the ‘Custom Made’ plaque it is a very cool looking guitar indeed.
Pop in and give it a try, I doubt if you will be disappointed with this and in fact you will probably be most pleased with what you have just saved yourself over a stop tail version..
