Gibson / ES-335 TDC / 1966 / Cherry Red / Guitar For Sale

Iconic guitar, iconic colour from such an iconic year if you follow English International soccer, but don't let that cloud your judgment... This is a great package. Head turning good looks, a comfortable neck you won't want to put down and tone that'll put a smile on your face. If that collection has been crying out for a 335, this might be the one. A very nice mid sixties ES-335 TDC in vibrant cherry finish, the only modification being a nice old set of nickel plated Grover tuners.

Truly a cherry bomb, this guitar is quite striking. The finish is rich and accentuates the subtle grain of the top. Both front and back have just a few dings and marks which also goes for the mahogany neck, one of the reasons you should look more closely at these mid - late 60s 335s - just like Larry Carlton decided to do...

This one is from early 1966 as it still has the wide bevel pickguard and a nice set of reflector knobs. No breaks or repairs and no sign of any finish touch ups or overspray anywhere. All solder joints are undisturbed and fitted with a pair of very nice Patent number sticker pickups that sound stunning.

Original frets and nut and plays exceptionally well with hardly any wear on the frets or fretboard. The same can be said for the rest of the guitar. Admittedly it has a few knocks though these cannot be classed as serious and overall the guitar is in excellent shape for its age.

The guitar comes with a hardshell case

This guitar plays very well. The action is fantastic and it's truly a joy to play. The Patent number pickups really deliver the goods and do justice to their heritage.

You'll find here all your semi-hollow tonal markers, heft from the low end tempered by chimey top and plenty of sustain regardless of the trapeze tailpiece. Both Pat number, sticker pickups are balanced and give this guitar a breadth of tonal options. The neck is articulate and clear, the bridge has plenty of bite without sounding harsh. This guitar not only looks the part but sounds it too!

Classic colour at a reasonable price with tones to match. What more could you want...?
