Gibson / ES-345 / 1960 / Red / Guitar

**HOLD**So, you like that watermelon red that shows up in 59 and 60 but they're always so expensive (because they're 59's and 60's). Well, this gorgeous (you should see it in person) faded watermelon red ES-345 isn't (expensive, that is). Predictably, it's had some stuff done to it. Let's start with what's original. The finish is original and I believe the pots and Varitone parts are original and the vintage long guard and bracket are correct as are the pickup rings but everything else has been changed. Note that the guard has a repaired hole in it. This is an opportunity to get beautiful old wood and great tone without breaking the bank. This guitar was a factory stop tail that had a Maestro added later-no holes in the butt end only the top. The Maestro is gone but the holes remain. Other parts: Tone Pros bridge, non original tailpiece and studs, patent pending Grovers (these are worth a buck or two), later patent number T Top pickups, repro early style knobs (these look better than the reflectors), refret and a later '60's truss rod cover. Guitar is wired mono but the Varitone still works great. Wide flat neck profile typical of '60. Finish is faded but in excellent shape with some very attractive figuring. It plays very well but the non original frets show some wear and could use a dress and crown. Case is a probably from the 90's. No breaks or repairs ever.
