This 1960 Gibson ES-345TDC, 1960, definitely one of the nicest all original ES-345 i came across. The Guitar features bound maple top, back and sides, honduran mahogany neck with bound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearl split-parallelogram inlays, two original untouched PAF pickups, with original covers, original ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge, original stop tailpiece (wire-less) and original case, also included is the original stereo cable. The neck has that typical lovely medium-to-thick profile and 42.5mm (1 11/16") width at the original Nut
All the hardware is original, including the original black bonnet volume and tone knobs, original bevelled pickguard with original gold bracket, original gold Kluson Deluxe tuners, with replaced buttons since the original buttons had to be replaced after the usual shrinkage problem, Technical features include, Laminated doublecutaway maple-body, 1-piece mahagony-neck, Bound rosewood fretboard with double parallelogram inlays, Original factory stoptailpiece meaning it never had a bigsby on, Original factory Vari-tone switch,2 x PAF - Humbucker pickups with decals, Gold hardware that is a little faded, Original brown Gibson ES 335/345/355 hardshellcase with pink lining, Good strong Cherry finish with almost no fading.
This is an exceptional condition Gibson ES-345TDC example that is almost a virgin example except for some minor weather-checking. Remarkable is the good colour of the Cherry red and the lack of scuffs and scratches that are very little on this guitar. A rarely seen untouched original example and of the most sought after Gibson semi-hollowbody guitars ever made. The Original Gibson brown hardshell case with purple lining is in excellent condition with some wear to the edges. The finish is all original and of a beautifully glowing cherry finish, 628mm (24 3/4") scale length. Only some 252 345TD where produced in 1960, and this is probably one of the finest examples left. In General the market expects the ES models to increase value rapidly in a growing market since they are (to) far behind LP models. CITES documentation can be aquired, but usually takes several months.
