Gibson / ES-345 TDSVC / 1966 / Cherry Red / Guitar
Nice, fairly rare to see, 1966 Gibson ES-345 TDSV in lovely cherry red. We do not see so many of these for some reason, plenty of mid 60’s ES-335’s but not so many of the stereo version - the ES-345 TDVC to give it it’s full, grandiose name.
All correct except someone has converted it to mono wiring using original pots and chokes so at least the Varitone still works. Quite a good and user friendly mod that a lot of players we sell these to will often want to get carried out themselves, so there you go, someone has saved you all that bother.
Two original and un molested PAT number, sticker pickups sit under the hood and offer a very lively performance from this cool looking and playing guitar. Both of these pickups are balanced, responsive and clear. Just like an really good set of early PAT number pickups should be.
It is setup very well with a good low action on original frets that still have some decent meat on them. Neck is early slim taper style which is not quite so tapered as the later sixties necks can be and as a result is it a real comfortable player.
All hardware is correct with the usual slight wear on the gold plating. Finish is all original with no touch ups or overspray. Even the 41mm nut is original and still has the unbroken lacquer on the sides. Correct case is in decent shape with all latches working well.
A very cool guitar with good personality that we are sure will still look and sound good Ten Years After the purchase (at least!)…
