Gibson / ES-355 TD Factory MONO / 1967 / Cherry Red / Guitar
Here is something you do not see every day. This is an original factory mono, cherry red Gibson ES-355 TD (not SV) made in 1967/8 with the desirable one piece neck. long tenon and a slightly later original hard case. It also has 2 x superb sounding PAT number sticker pickups, 41mm nut, original Vibrola and even the original large frets.
Please have a good look at the photos you will see for yourself the cool condition this guitar is in. There are a few dings and dongs here, some checking, one missing knob cap and the usual bit of wear on the gold as expected, but overall it is good condition and importantly, the cherry is still a nice red and mostly un faded.
Pots were replaced some time ago and covers have been off the pickups at some stage. Pickguard is still largely intact but it does have the usual deterioration of the nitrate based plastic you see on these (see pictures). Guitar has a nice feel about it - plays well and sounds killer, with no tone sucking Varitone or stereo chokes to go through it’s a bit like a luxury ES-335 with a lovely fast ebony fingerboard.
Rare to see in the UK a factory mono ES-355 for sale. The ideal duck walk axe...
