Gibson / ES-355 TDSVC / 1967 / Cherry Red / Guitar
Looks and tone, its time for a 1967 Gibson ES-355 TDSVC in your life…
This guitar is in great condition. There are no real signs of wear, the finish has escaped blemishing though there are a few minor dinks. The colour overall has faded a little but still retains that rich cherry hue.
The neck is in great shape with very little signs of wear. The frets and fretboard are in good condition, frets have plenty of life left in them.
Hardware is in great condition and working perfectly. This being an early '67 means that it still has the much loved reflector knobs on it as opposed to the later and some would say, uglier witch hat knobs. The pickup covers have tarnished a little probably due to the pickguard which, as you can see from the pictures, has disintegrated. The bridge studs have been replaced at some stage possibly indicating another bridge was fitted at some time.
Electrically all is correct with 2 pre T-top PAT Number pickups (the neck cover looks to have been off at some stage) which sound great! All pots and wiring are original too.
The guitar comes with its correct hardshell case.
This is a well balanced instrument with a confident, rootsy acoustic tone. The neck is comfortable and familiar with easy access to the upper frets. The Patent number pickups add that classic punch, bite and warmth, arguably the last of Gibson’s classic humbucking pickups .
A killer looking and sounding guitar. Every day should be 355 day…
