Gibson / ES175 Sunburst / 1978 / Guitar

This Gibson ES-175D with serial number 71248013 was made in 1978 and is in original condition and is a very clean example. The body of an ES-175 is made of laminated maple which together with a shorter scale length, gives a different sound than for example Gibson's L5 or Super 400. This 175 features a classic sunburst lacquer and features T-top pickups with a stamped Patent Number, which explains that these pickups were produced between '74 and '77. The neck humbucker reads 7.43 kOhm and the bridge humbucker reads 7.44 kOhm. This ES-175D is in very good condition. There is playwear on the pickguard, next to it on the top and on the left side of the guitar. There are some traces of use on the top, including two blemishes, a very small and shallow dent on the lower bout on the bass side. The back also has traces of use including one blemish in the middle of the back and the cutaway has some traces of use. This, of course, is all relative. This guitar was made in 1978 and is in impeccable condition for an instrument at this age. It even has the original frets, which are slightly used and can still be played on for quite some time. This ES-175D sounds very good, which of course partly has to do with the T-top humbuckers, although acoustically it's also very present. The neck pickup has a full, rich and defined sound and the bridge pickup is balanced and has a nice high end. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
