Gibson / ES175D / 1961 / Sunburst / Guitar
This is a nice example of classic early 60’s Gibson ES-175D made in 1961 complete with early 70’s ES-175 hard case this one is reasonably priced because the original PAF pickups have been replaced by Sheptone pickups (still a very decent pickup). If the PAF’s were still there you could add a couple of grand to the price...
Please have a good look at the photos you will see for yourself the good condition this guitar is in. There are a few marks here and there plus the usual vintage checking you would expect to see and there is a wear spot on the back and some wear on the back of the neck.
It is all original except the pickups as stated and some other tuners have been on there at some stage but have not left any visible extra holes. Double ring, single line Klusons are back on there now.
Included is a nice, original Gibson ES-175D black/purple hardshell case from the early 70’s that is in very food condition and protects it well.
Nice to play, has typical early 60’s flatter profile wide neck with a 43mm nut width. Really well set up with flat wound .12’s at the moment, nice straight neck and has probably had flat wounds fitted to it for most of it’s life hence very little fret wear on the original frets.
All hardware, including the tailpiece, are original and all electrics are original with the exception of the pickups as indicated. Serial number: 36732
