Gibson / Explorer Reissue / 1976 / Polaris White / Guitar

This is a very "Rare" late 1975 or early 1976 production Gibson Explorer Reissue in a factory Polaris White finish. Its got a medium to full size mahogany neck w/an unbound dot rosewood fingerboard. Its got 2 original "Tarback" Humbuckers in its rhythm & lead positions. Its got its original pots dated to the 36th week of 1976. Its very lightweight & its tone quality is unmistakable ! That fat Mahogany body sings which it was always a favorite of "The Edge" from U2. Its got an original set of Gibson 6-in-line Kluson Tuners used only on this guitar. Its got what appears to be an original Nashville Bridge & Stop Tailpiece. Still sporting its original single layer White pickgard & Gold Speed Knobs. Its 100% original & in excellent condition overall showing a good amount of play time wear. Incredibly lightweight @ only 7 lbs. 14 oz. 1976 was the first year for the new Gibson Explorer after it's been discontinued in 1959 ! Gibson only made 67 White Explorers in 1976 - this one even has an unusual 6 digit stamped serial number from the factory c.1975 prior to the new decal logo w/serial # under the clear coat finish. No repairs or touchups ever ! Comes in its original black/red lined square hardshell case.
