Gibson / F-5 Mandolin / 1977 / Sunburst Finish / Stringed Instrument

This is a very rare & ultra cool, true vintage 45 years old Gibson F-5 mandolin made in Kalamazoo, MI back in ’77. This stunning Master Model F-style is constructed of all solid wood & shows of some nice flame maple figuring in the back of the body & neck. Its V-shaped flame maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Its Ebony fingerboard has very ornate & decorative abalone inlays. Its bound headstock has mother of pearl “The Gibson” & flower pot inlays. Its Gold strip tuners w/pearloid buttons (1 replaced) hold tune perfectly. Its F-style body has Gibson’s famous scroll w/a solid spruce top with dual F-holes & 3-ply binding. Its Gold tailpiece has “The Gibson” engraving w/its compensated ebony bridge. Its tortoise pickguard is starting to chrystalize but we are taking steps to save it & seal it. Its solid maple back & sides have 3-ply binding. Its carved top & back are arched & the whole mandolin is finished in a beautiful two-tone Sunburst. Its still sports its 2 oval labels inside each F-hole clearly dated 1977. Its got s big chop & fabulous tone. Its truly exceptionally clean & comes in its original square hardshell case.
