'76 FIREBIRD III Rare Natural Mahogany Color ! OHC  EX +code GI028

This is an all original 1976 Gibson Firebird Limited Edition Bicentennial Red White and Blue Firebird Logo Model. It’s in super excellent condition.  There are absolutely no repairs or modifications made to this guitar.  This firebird was made for one year only in very limited quantities and celebrates the US Bicentennial. Reverse body; sunburst; nice dark rosewood neck; gold hardware; red, white & blue Firebird logo; all original; excellent condition;

As many will know, 1976 was the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence for the USA - So Gibson decided to release a special limited edition Bicentennial Firebird model - Nice and easy to follow so far - However Gibson decided to run this model for 4 years, with only around 1000 available in natural. It was a limited edition (SN on back of headstock by tuners in gold inlay) it was only made in 1976 as a tribute to the Bicentennial. While the unexpected popularity caused Gibson to continue making them (they were supposed to be limited production-times were slow for Gibson) as far as I know only the "76 had the red white & blue "bird" in the pick guard lower front. Value of a 1976 + $2,500 approx. over other years. Also I was told the post 76 models had bolt on necks, not the original 1 piece "pass-through" like the '76

The unplugged tone has plenty of life and natural lively sonic qualities to it and that certainly helps with a good voice when hooked up to your amp - The mini humbuckers throw out a vintage based output that just exceeds 6k - Neck pick-up is warm, rich and smooth with a clear like bell quality to it - The bridge pick-up possesses bite and attack but not in a thin weedy way, so a good tight throaty clear edge to it - Both pick-ups overdrive the amp with a musical voice so get into your Lynyrd Skynyrd model and try out a few chosen southern boogie licks - Generally when I've played Firebirds in the past I've never felt the need to own one and fail to see what the fuss is about but this Bicentennial model has somewhat changed my mind a bit
