-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Gibson Firebird III is a solid-body electric guitar produced by Gibson in 1963. It was part of the Gibson Firebird series and was the first Gibson guitar to feature a reverse (upside-down) body and headstock design. The Firebird III is a unique and distinctive-looking guitar that stands out from other Gibson models.
The Gibson Firebird III features a mahogany body with a maple top, a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and two Gibson Mini-Humbucking pickups. It also features a Gibson Vibrola tailpiece, Gibson's sunburst finish, and Kluson Deluxe tuners. It has a 24.75" scale length and a weight of around 8.5 pounds.
The Gibson Firebird III is known for its warm and powerful tone, which is characterized by a strong mid-range and a clear, articulate high-end. The Mini-Humbucking pickups provide a balance of clarity and warmth and are known for their high output, making them ideal for rock, blues, and jazz music.
Due to the age, rarity, and historical significance of the 1963 Gibson Firebird III, it is considered a highly sought-after and valuable vintage guitar. They can be very expensive, and you may have to pay a premium for one that is in good condition.
It's worth noting that the Gibson Firebird III was not in production for a long time, and finding an original one in good condition can be difficult and very expensive, if you are looking for the same tone, but can't afford the original, there are some reissue versions available.
