This will really blow you away… This is a STUNNING original and RARE reverse body 1964 top of the range Gibson Firebird VII + OHSC It is probably one of the very few you will come across that have not had a repaired headstock. In fact I only know of 2 other reverse body VII's in the UK, both of which have suffered the common headstock fracture...

This rare, beautiful and incredible guitar is 100% original in every way - frets, hardware, finish and all electrics including all solder joints. It has the original case but this has had new latches fitted and has been painted black at some stage.

There are just a few dings here and there, two of the tips of the pickguard have cracks and there is of course some wear on the gold plating but apart from that it is really nice, please have a look at the photos.

If you are into Gibson Firebirds then a reverse body VII is the ultimate. I myself have always wanted one since I saw Phil Manzanera sporting one on the cover of Roxy Music's For your Pleasure and personally I think the combination of the design, gold, ebony fingerboard and rich sunburst is totally classic and just… well, beautiful!

Frets are original and play great, fingerboard has no wear. It plays like butter and sounds as sweet as honey. No really… it does! There are many dodgy, old and not brilliantly set up Firebirds out there this is not one of them and if you are going to play it, you will find it is a joy to play and has a super fast action.

In fact.. as you will see in the video below, Dafydd loved this guitar so much I had to nearly wench it off him - he couldn't stop playing the thing!

The reverse body Firebirds are always collectable and the VII is the ultimate. You rarely come across these for sale as they are pretty coveted by collectors and out of the mere 173 made during 1964 I wonder how many have had their headstock broken… Quite a few I think!

Check out the Youtube video on my site - All 3 pickups sound killer and evenly balanced and guitar is a lovely instrument and weighs in at just 3.8Kg

VERY RARE to see a 1964 Firebird VII as good as this if you are a serious collector looking for a Firebird it doesn’t get much better than this...
