Gibson / Flying V FF-82 Mahogany Body / 1982 / Natural / Guitar
How about this then... This is probably the rarest Gibson Flying V in existence, less than 12 made (more were made, maybe another 80 but these were finished in white and designaed FF-82). It even has it’s own Vintage Guitar article, specifically written about this very same guitar with the same serial number - you can read this by clicking here.
This is a STUNNING and 100% original in every way 1981/2 Gibson Flying V strings thru body (like Koria Heritage) but factory built in Honduras mahogany with the original hard shell case, un-molested in every way and just bought from the third owner who has had this amazing insturument for the last 10 years.
All hardware, electrics, wood finish, everything is 100% original as it left the factory in 1981/82 and it is totally straight, including frets (hardly any play wear) and is also in superb condition - see photos.
It plays brilliantly well with a nice fat neck and the real amazing thing is it is so resonant - even when played acoustically. It is also a lovely weight at just 3.3Kg, this certainly makes a real difference to the way these guitars sound and I do not think anyone would be dissapointed by this!
Just a few, minor marks here and there plus some tarnish on the gold plated parts, that’s about it. Looks like it has had very little use and is a great investment that can surely only go up… Try to find another one..
Serial number is 80552064 and this is the exact same serial number mentioned in the Vintage Guitar feature. All I have is exactly what you see pictured - just the guitar and it’s original case.
If you are looking for an investment, this should be up there with them as it is a guitar with a strong cult following and values have performed well over the last few years...
