This Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab 1959 ES-335 Reissue is a semi-hollow body electric guitar to consider. A magnificent replica of an original ES-335, it was made in the Murphy Lab department inaugurated in 2021. The instruments that come from it are incredible recreations of the iconic models of the Golden Era Gibson.

For 25 years, Tom Murphy has practiced reproducing the appearance and temperament of vintage guitars. Based on this expertise, Gibson has therefore collaborated with the master luthier to invent a new varnish formula that perfectly imitates the imperfections typical of nitrocellulose from the 1950s/60s, and to develop specific manufacturing techniques. Each craftsman working at the Murphy Lab has been personally trained by Tom Murphy to become an expert in the aging process.
