One of the great things about finding and buying vintage guitars is the opportunity to find one- owner pieces. We saw this bass at the Philly Guitar show and the minute the lady opened the case, Lee and I smiled because we just knew that it had basically been sitting in it's case for the past 28 years. I asked the seller about the basses' history and she relayed to me that it had belonged to her husband, who had purchased it new during his "collecting years". She said that they had pulled it out a couple of times over the years to wipe it down and that was it- the strings had only been changed in order for her to bring it to the show, so we missed this bass having the original strings on it by a couple of days! There is no playwear on the bass and except for some polishing swirls (the bane of every black bass guitar's existence), it appears to be in virtually unplayed condition. The plastic covering is still on the pickguard! Of course, as with almost all of these Grabbers, the paint has chipped off around the bridge on the back of the bass, but that just seems to be the tale of these particular tigers. The case is also in excellent condition and this G-3 will arrive with fresh strings, set up, intonated and ready to play. Vintage, collector- grade instruments always get us fired up around here, so you Grabber guys give us a yell on what surely has to be the cleanest G-3 bass on the planet!
