Gibson Historic Division / Les Paul R9, Yamano, Murphy ** ON HOLD ** / 2007 / Iced Tea Burst / Guitar
Yamano, for those of you that are not familiar with the term, is basically a huge store in Japan. But here's the deal- The fine folks over there just happen to be the most particular buyers on the planet and their requirements are high. In other words, they (Yamano) get the choicest woods and Gibson pays much more attention to their specifications and needs when catering to them. Why? Well simply because Yamano happens to be a "whale" for Gibson, kinda like rolling into the Flamingo and being Sinatra in the early 60's. I'll bet 'Ole Blue Eyes didn't have to ask for a drink, a private room or Angie Dickinson twice. He just got what he wanted, when he wanted it and it's pretty much the same with the Yamano Corp. They get the best Gibson has to offer with no questions asked. Now that said, this guitar should be the last LP you would ever need to buy. It's a completely professional- grade instrument, made from the finest materials and aged by the Master himself, Tom Murphy ( the COA says so right there). That, my friends is what is referred to as a "five tool player" in baseball. So, give Ray and I a shout for the weight, neck dimensions or just to talk about Kiss trivia- we do all that and more here at the Elk...
