Gibson / Historic Les Paul R9 / 2015 / Slow Fade Iced Tea / Guitar

Supplied as a special order to GAK, this stunning example is from 2014 (as denoted by the serial number) but was actually made in 2015. This guitar represents one of the last guitars from the period before the confusing split between the Standard Historic and True Historic in 2015. Standard Historic were given an R prefix whilst True Historic was given a traditional number system.

Reminiscent of Keith’s Les Paul, this guitar has a stunning top that gorgeously accentuated by the slow fade iced tea finish (though it could be a kentucky bourbon burst!) that really shows off the flamed top. The guitar as a whole is in excellent condition, fitted with a factory bigbsy which is a rare feature.

Under the hood, the guitar features a pair of E-buckers which are more commonly seen on Japanese guitars from the True Historic period. As such they are exceedingly rare and can be considered as an underwound Custom Bucker.

its a joy to play with a sublime ‘59 profile neck and the E-buckers delivering a more refined take on the Custom Bucker, delivering a cultured note bloom that is a marked difference to the Custom Bucker tone.

A unique piece, this ahas enough features to make it a welcome addition to any collection or for those looking for a few more features on their Les Pauls. Not only that, its a gorgeous guitar.
