Gibson / Hummingbird / 1969 / Cherry Sunburst / Guitar
ON HOLD
This is a 1969 Gibson Hummingbird in very good condition. This guitar is exceptional in many ways. First of all the sound , typical for a vintage Hummingbird. The guitar has a massive spruce top and massive Honduras mahony back and sides. The combination of those tone woods gives the Hummingbird its typical warm - woody vintage character. Gibson Hummingbirds from the sixties have become a rarity especially in Europe. Not many of them made it over the Atlantic. Keith Richards recorded many of his famous songs with his beloved Gibson Hummingbird, for example Angie. It's a guitar he takes along with him both on stage and in the studio. This particular Gibson Hummingbird also belonged in a previous life to a professional studio - musician from the Presley era , "Munsell" , who's name is stamped on the top.
It's that type of guitar you fall in love with the moment you touch and play it ! A very resonant and mature sounding guitar.
