Gibson / Hummingbird Natural / 1963 / Guitar

This is a 1963 Gibson Hummingbird Natural in excellent condition. The Guitar is exceptional in many ways. First Hummingbird's of this early era are rare, and finding a good one like this is mostly like finding a needle in a Haystack. it's by far one of the best recording guitars ever, and this one is standing out! This guitar features upgrades in the shape of a newer Brazilian rosewood fretboard and Brazilian Rosewood bridge (CITES included), that is upgraded from Adjustable to a standard and much better sustaining Bridge with drop-in Bone saddle. Also the tuners are changed. This guitar features a solid spruce top with solid Honduras mahogany back and sides and Honduras mahogany neck. All original finish, The combination of these tonewoods provide the Hummingbird with that typical woody tone vintage Gibson acoustics are known for. Keith Richard recorded many fine songs with his Hummingbird (e.g. 'Angie'), and it's the only Acoustic Guitar that always returned on stage and in the studio with him. This is a guitar that makes you reconsider all your preferences again, because the tone grabs you by the throat the first minute you strum it and it won't let go! Features a 645mm (25.4”) scale length, 43mm ( 1 11/16") nut width, newer grover tuners, and impressive Hummingbird pickguard. These guitars are true studio machines and record better than any guitar i ever heard.  In excellent condition with expected signs of use and weather checking. A very resonant, woody and matured instrument with excellent projection; a true vintage treasure. Includes hardshell case. Normally 63 Hummingbirds are priced around 10k but due to the changes (Bridge, Fingerboard, Tuners) within range of many more players that seek the ultimate tone! ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
