Gibson / J-160E / 1966 / Guitar
Gibson J-160E (1966)
Years of production: 1954-1979.
As one of Gibson's early attempts to produce an acoustic-electric guitar, the J-160e was a round-shouldered dreadnaught with a single-coil pickup installed at the end of the fingerboard. Like the Epiphone Casino, this guitar's status has been greatly influenced by its use by the Beatles. This guitar was very important in the Beatles history as it was intimately bound to the early career of the band. Both John Lennon and George Harrison owned and played a J-160E. Lennon used his J-160e to co-compose (with Paul McCartney) early Beatles classics as “I Saw Her Standing There,” “She Loves You,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “All My Loving.” The guitar was lost a long time, resurfaced in a San Diego guitar shop, and was auctioned for 2,41 million USD in 2015.
The guitar's overall condition is very good. The playability as well. Straight neck.
Frets are in good condition. Perfectly adjusted guitar
Wonderful (that old woody Gibson) sound and amplified, the guitar even sounds better.
