Gibson / J-200-N Flame Maple & Sitka Spruc / 1967 / Guitar
Gibson J-200-N (1967) Flame maple & Sitka spruce, Gibson case,
1967 Gibson J-200N, serial number #849346. The big Gibson guitars were always considered cool instruments and for those who play them know how inspiring their tone can be. The big body creates a warm and deep and bit growling response often referred to as 'weich und warm' by our German customers, meaning a guitar with a certain vintage magic that is not easily caught in words but really gets to you and brings out a happy feeling, with that distinctive growl that is really overwhelming and makes you want to play the bass strings over and over. The J-200 features a big body and shows fancy appointments that make her stand out on any stage. The older they get the better they sound, especially maple-spruce combined guitars often need lots of time to mature, but when they do they are unbeatable. The typical character of a J-200 makes them somehow perfect for vocal support.
The guitar features, all original finish but the top seen overspray, the top and back are crack free, but there is a repair to the back centre inlay against the heal area and there is some local retouche, my guess is a part of the binding is replaced in that area also. A repaired end-pin crack is sort of perfectly repaired and the 3 holes from a tailpiece that was on the guitar at one point in her life are filled, now i ask myself who wants a tailpiece on a J200??! Also the frets have been replaced at one point. The guitar undergone a neck reset in the past. The playability is excellent with low action, 2.5mm on the 12th and lots of saddle left to lower further, recently the saddle is replaced for a bone saddle.
There is relatively very little wear to the guitar and overall this guitar is very good condition and comes with superb playability. Features include a moustache bridge with pearl inlay, flame maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard and fancy inlays, engraved pickguard, multi-layered bindings, gold Grover Rotomatic tuners. This guitar is in very good condition, The guitar features 645mm (25.4”) scale length and 43mm (1 11/16”) nut width, It's sounds just how you like a J-200 to sound..big and with that whomp, woody and vintage! With a later Gibson case.

The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Netherlands
ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
