1940 Gibson J-35 - Natural incl. hardshell case
1940 Gibson J-35 Jumbo flat top acoustic guitar in natural finish. The guitar is in excellent+ condition and has just some minor repairs (there is a repaired spot on the bottom and a small touched-up area on the back). Otherwise it is crazy-clean and has no cracks at all! Introduced in 1936 the J-35 is the ancestor of the famous J-45 Jumbo which was introduced in 1942 and they basically share the same specs. The Natural finish was first introduced in 1939 and on this guitar it looks almost like the ultra-rare Opaque Blonde they did on some of the last J-35 models in 1942. The natural finish lets the firestripe pickguard almost glow! The neck joint still has the pointy „french“ heel from the earlier models in which a strap pin was mounted to make it work as a proper live instrument. The nut has been replaced with a great working compensated one. Great intonation! The big but yet very comfortable "baseball bat" neck feels great in your hand and the action is perfect. This is a great example of the golden age of Gibson flattops and a highly collectible great investment. Comes in hardshell case.
