This is 1 of Gibson’s best years in biz…this is a real cool model J-50 from 1961. Sister to the more popular model J-45, this has a Natural finished Spruce Top that’s quite grainy w/plenty of vibe sporting a cool Tortoise’gard. Its mahogany back & sides are quite clean. Its 1 piece mahogany neck is super wide & flat…my favorite. Its got a dot inlaid rosewood fingerboard w/matching bridge that sports a bone saddle set up perfectly letting all of its highs & lows out. Its repro single line Kluson Deluxe Tuners work perfectly. Other than a crackle thru its heel that is super solid & has not been messed with & a few pickgard crackles, she’s completely solid all over. She’s got a groovy patina w/lots of checking. Her flat feeling neck has a very player friendly 1 11/16″ nut. Having no issues nor any touchup ever, she’s a great candidate for any real player wanting a great example for the next gig. Grab it if you can. She’s Excellent overall & comes in a generic molded hard shell case.
