Gibson / L-4C Cutaway / 1956 / Dark Sunburst Finish / Guitar

This is a really nice example of what is essentially a fully acoustic ES-175 w/a carved Spruce top. Its Dark Sunburst finish has a very beautiful patina having had some play time throughout its last 64 years. It was the best 16″ Jazz axe made at that time by Gibson having very pretty Maple back & sides to go along w/its carved solid Spruce Top & its sharp Florentine cutaway. Its fairly full sized 1 piece mahogany neck is perfect for those who like that sort of thing such as us ! Its unbound headstock has an pearl inlaid crown. Its bound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard has double parallelograms & plays like butter w/excellent original frets. Its “no-lime” Kluson Deluxe tuners hold tune well & work perfectly. Its Orange Label has its “A” serial # stamped & its body date code is a “V” for 1956. Its beautiful multi-laminated 4-ply pickgard is slightly warped but perfectly intact. Its pointed end Nickel plated tailpiece finishes her off quite nicely. Its uncracked w/no mods or touchup ever. Just a fabulous user friendly example that’s excellent overall & comes in a newer black hard case.
