This is a find of a lifetime straight from it's original family in Charlotte N.C. since new, its Dark Sunburst finish is stunning !, it has wood like you've never seen...its this crazy "Blistered" 3-D figured Maple all over its 1 piece back & sides, the neck is also very flamey & very playable, its Tortoise'gard is like almost new (& it is not), its Pearl Block ebony fingerboard is nearly unplayed, its binding all over is perfect, this is a very rare transitional L-5...1 of the earliest 17" production & 100% original other than the original Grover tuners, that were replaced perhaps by Gibson c.1948-50 with Gold Kluson Tuners being used at that time, it is a near mint L-5 w/its original Brown hard case.
