Gibson L 50
Gorgeous L 50 with an authentic carved spruce top. The neck is perfectly straight and never been been reset; nor does it require one. The compensated rosewood bridge is fit perfectly to the top. The nut is made of polished bone. This makes for an incredibly responsive, warm sounding, and spectacularly playing guitar.
The guitar has pearloid trapezoid fret position markers, which Gibson started using in 1946. The guitar still has the original tortoiseshell pickguard, which was phased out in 1948 for 3 ply. Which dates the guitar as being between 1946 and 1948. The original label is missing so it is impossible to ascertain which of those three years the guitar was produced.
As you can see in the pictures, this guitar can take many shapes: it can be played strictly acoustically or use one of two pickups that come with the guitar. You can either use the lower wound single coil pickup (3.57K) that was mounted in the 50's or use a Fender style custom singlecoil pickup (5.5K) for a stronger output signal.
The tuners have been changed to Gotoh vintage oval tuners.
The guitar also comes with a beautiful and very well built vintage Lifton hardcase.
