This is a really cool & ultra rare L-5CES Custom in a very “Special Ordered” Cherry Red stained finish over a very grainy Spruce Top, figured maple back & sides & over its 3 piece flamey maple neck w/its 1 11/16″ nut width, its finish now has a beautiful tomato red faded patina w/a very unusual & original extended “Black Stinger” on the back of its headstock from new (Gibson did this on many headstocks & heel areas over the years), notice the black light photo to verify its originality, she has a no volute or made in USA stamp, its got a multi-bound Ebony fingerboard w/white pearl inlays, you get a killer variety of tones available thru its 2 pat.# stickered Humbucking pickups, she is still sporting her original Kluson Deluxe tuners, its original pickgard has disintegrated & left a white halo under it from the gas it let off, now sporing a new repro’gard replacement, all of its Gold hardware is worn including its pickup covers, ABR-1 tun-a-matic bridge & its huge trapeze tailpiece, nice period black “witch hat” volume & tone knobs, clean factory orange label, She’s got killer sustain & tone qualities, excellent shape overall & a 100% original example, comes with a later Gibson black/red lined hard case.
