This is a very early production mid tp late-30's larger bodied 17" model L-7 which was essentially a more budget minded version of their top of the line L-5. Its got all of Gibson's earliest features which made this perfect for any Jazz guitarist looking for its perfect acoustic tone qualities. Its a completely original example from its original family here in Florida. Its Sunburst finished top is over a perfectly carved spruce top w/is nicely faded overall appearance. Its walnut stained maple back & sides have that pure Gibson aging factor. This L-7 was certainly played for many years by its 1st & only owner yet still has a beautiful look to it. Its fairly fat 2 piece maple neck has some nice flames showing w/a cool black stinger. Its rosewood fingerboard has Gibson's double parralellogram inlays. Its Kluson c.1952 Deluxe no-line tuners work well & now have replaced white buttons. Its nickel plated tailpiece is quite rare today. This L-7 also has their cool "Script" logo inlaid on its headstock. Its pickgard has been replaced w/a nice replica. Lastly its got a very early white oval label still intact w/an A322 serial # from c.1935...go figure ! No cracks anywhere which is oh-so rare. Its tone quality is as good as it gets from this little bodied Jazzer & certainly worth the price of admission. Its excellent overall & comes in an original 50's brown tolex hard case.
