Gibson / L00 Sunburst Refinished / 1939 / Guitar

The Gibson L-00 is Gibson's most desirable small bodied acoustic guitar. Almost none of the examples that are still around today are in mint condition, for good reasons. The L-00 is a real players guitar. It is the question whether this L-00 factually is a pre-World War II guitar. It has been made in 1939 and features all of the pre-war features that a guitar connoisseur could ask for, and she sure plays and sounds like it. This guitar has seen a lot of use since its creation, and can tell a story or two about the bars and stages it has seen. This Gibson has been refinished. The top features a wonderful sunburst and the back, sides and the neck feature a transparant finish, which shows  the natural color of mahogany. This Gibson L-00 is in good condition. There are traces of use across the body, including dings/ small scuff marks, and there is playwear on the top. There are a number of repaired cracks in the back, sides and a small crack in the top. The right side also has a patch near the strap button, and two top braces have been reglued. The neck has been reset, had a refret and still features the original stamped Kluson 3-on-a-plate tuners, which work wonderfully. The first five frets of its rosewood fingerboard have some worn spots that have been filled. The sound is as dry as the Sahara desert, and makes for a wonderfull blues guitar. This small body guitar has impressive lows, raw and rich mids, and sweet and slightly subdued highs. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
