Gibson / L5 C / 1953 / Sunburst / Guitar

Near MINT as you can possibly get this stunning,, top of the line 1953 Gibson L-5C with original Gibson McCarty pickguard defies it's 64 years of age and begs the question what on Earth is it taking to look so young..

There is hardly a mark anywhere on this beautiful instrument. In fact the only real ding I can see is a small one just on the back of the neck where it remains largely unseen. There is not a crack anywhere on the exquisite carved spruce top or the maple back and sides. Even the lacquer looks like it could have been applied less than a year ago as the binding has hardly any fade.

It is a majestic player in the true sense of the word. It is set up with .12 flat wounds with a super low action that almost plays itself. The original McCarty pickguard is basically a vintage 1953 P-90 with a volume and tone control built into the plastic. The original cable is included and the idea is, if you do nt get on with it you can remove it with ease and play your L-5 acoustically without leaving any gashes in the woodwork. There is no sign that this has ever been done.

Super, original frets with intact binding nibs and a stunning ebony fingerboard make this a real joy to play as well as to behold. Even the case is near mint.

I do not think I have seen a better early 50's L-5 and certainly not the rarer and more desirable cutaway L-5C version.

If your quest is for the best then hello - we have your L-5C waiting here...
