Gibson / LG-0 / 1965 / Natural / Guitar
This Gibson LG-0 from 1965 is a ladder-braced guitar made out of solid mahogany and has a warm, full and rich sound. A fun little acoustic with cool vintage vibe.
The original plastic bridge has been upgraded with a handmade rosewood bridge. Ladder braced guitars often end up with a bit of a belly, so is this one. We believe that a heavy/medium string gauge will increase the belly bulge. So we’ve set up the guitar with a set of light-gauge strings (009). With this set the belly bulge is acceptable.
At some point this guitar has been sold by Hawthorne Guitar Studio in New York. This music store was active in the 1960s till the beginning of the 1980s. In the body of the guitar you can find a label of Hawthorne. The name of the store is also engraved on the Truss Rod cover. We don’t see this everyday!
Comes with the original vintage alligator case (broken handle).
