Gibson / LG-2 / 1947 / Sunburst / Guitar
For your consideration is this lovely Golden era Gibson LG-2 from 1947. The guitar is a fabulous example of the model. Unlike the LG-1, the LG-2 is X-braced which leads to better sound quality.
The guitar can be dated to 1947 based on the FON on the neck block.
This guitar has all of the most desirable features: original RW bridge, teardrop pickguard and old growth mahogany back and sides with a spruce top.
Original single line Kluson deluxe tuners
Straight mahogany neck topped with a RW fretboard. Pearl dots on positions 3,5,7,9,12 and 15. Frets are in very good condition, has probably been refretted. No signs of a neck reset. Does not need one. Action is low and bridge saddle has a lot of room to be lowered in the future. Playability is very good; There is some capo wear on the back of the neck.
Nicely aged and warm sunburst finish (original). There's some cool finish crazing on the top and a few dings but no other cracks than a professionally cleated pickguard crack.
Original RW bridge with 2 pearl dots and black bridge pins. Original small maple bridge plate. The guitar has recently been serviced by our luthier who glued 2 loose braces.
Comes with newer hard shell case
