This is a very special ordered & perhaps the very last Les Paul 25/50 Anniversary completed in 1981, 3 years after its production run in 1978. These 25/50 were a celebratory Les Paul honoring Gibson’s heritage from its earliest days. Most examples were either finished in a Dark Sunburst or in a solid Dark Red. This was ordered in a stunning faded Cherry Sunburst w/a fabulous Flamey Maple Top w/a Red finished back, sides & neck. Its got the usual mix of chrome & gold parts & beautiful inlaid bound ebony fingerboard. What is also evident on this special LP is this is missing the std. factory “Tap” switch that all of these 25/50’s had next to its volume & tone knobs. Other std. items include its Smaller tuners, its tun-a-matic & its TP-6 stop tailpiece. What its last care taker has done was give it a complete professional refret & he actually replaced the original pots w/new ones (kept the original in the case pocket) & added a push/pull tap switch to get the factory effect built into 1 of the pots. Its original pots are date coded to the 5th week of 1978. Overall she’s exceptionally clean & as stated, 1 of the very last ones made & would enhance any great Gibson collection. She comes in her original Black molded hard case.
