1957 Gibson Les Paul custom, original black finish, Original 3 PAF pickup version. This 56 year old guitar is i a true black-beauty-tone-monster. and...it has a unique quality only found very rarely: it barely weighs in at in between 3.6 and 3.7kg! (around 8LBS!). It Features a Carved Honduras mahogany body, Honduras mahogany neck, bound so called "Fretless wonder" ebony fretboard with pearl block inlays, at one point refretted with vintage style frets, multiple bound body and headstock with split diamond and Gibson inlay, "Les Paul Custom" engraved into truss rod cover, original ABR-1 tune-o-matic wireless bridge and original tailpiece, Pots date 34th week 1957 (134734), 3 original PAF pickups of which the middle one is disconnected for better tone-balance, original caps, original Kluson Super tuners and all other gold hardware is original, the tuners lost very little gold but the stop-tail lost some of it's gold over the years, the low "fretless wonder" frets are a refret and excellent condition.  The condition is exellent, and except for a respray of the neck and possibly little profiling - the neck feels a bit thinner compared to other 57 necks, actually this guitar is impressively original. the output of the three PAF is just what you expect, and all the electronics, including all the mostly changed by this age like the caps, are still there and going strong! (check out the bottom pictures also) Black-light inspection shows no cracks anywhere, and old finish on the neck that is partially worn of again. The feel, the tone and the weight add up to be one of the best i ever heard.

The sound is everything and more you expect from a vintage les Paul custom. It's needs no work and is ready to serve your rock and roll needs for another 50 years, 42.8mm (1 11/16") nut width, 628mm (24 3/4") scale length. 

Between 1954 and 1960 a total of of only 1912 Gibson Les Paul custom were made. The 3 PAF pickup guitar was introduced by mid 1957, and from the total of 974 guitars produced between 1957 and 1960 only a gross total of 830 guitars were equipped with PAF humbucker. This makes the Les Paul Custom even rarer than the very high priced Les Paul Standard with humbucker.(approx. 1700 'Burst' made between '58 and '60). It is also the reason why the LP custom, among vintage experts is considered one of the most interesting guitars from a investors point of view.  Comes with black replacement case. On request of the owner (this is a consignment guitar) the guitar is priced very modest!
