This will really blow you away… This is a STUNNING original late 1968 early 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom + OHSC It has all the desirable 1968 features such as a LONG NECK TENON, one piece body and one piece neck, nice dish top, early type cavity routing, no volute, no ‘made in USA’ and is one of the ‘early series’ of late 60’s Les Pauls with a serial number of 521872 dating from late 69 to early 69.

It also has 2x superb PAT number stickered PAF pickups with short magnets not T-tops just like the ones from 1962 onwards It is fairly rare and good news when you see these on a 1969 Gibson...

Guitar has been checked and black lighted, all finish looks original and there is no evidence I can see of overspray however there is as you can see, a small repaired crack on the back of the headstock. This has not gone through to the front, it has been professionally looked at and deemed to be stable, minor (looks worse than it is) and not structural. Hence the price..

Issues that I am aware of are tuners have been changed at some point but original waffle backs are now on and there are no extra holes, just a mild washer ring impression.

All the pots that I can read are dated 1968. It looks like the bridge pickup has been out for some reason and there is some extra tape around the bobbins but it does not appear to be rewound and from what I can see the coil wire looks correct. All hardware is correct as are electrics aside from mentioned above.

There are a few dings here and there, some rash on the back and wear to the back of the neck but noting too serious - please have a look at the pictures.

Frets are the original fretless wonder frets although low, are still very playable and guitar is a real joy to play with a fast neck that has a ’59 style feeling neck profile as opposed to the usual late 60’s slim taper. Weight is 4.75Kg.
