This is a desirable, vintage 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom finished in classic, beautiful black. It has a one piece body, transitional tenon and a three piece neck and it may have a mahogany, not maple, top. The jury is out, some people think it is, some think it is maple.
This example is in good condition but it does have honest playing wear as you can see from the pictures, the back of the neck around the middle in particular has worn to the wood and there are dings all over in places but overall the bits you see in normal use are in good shape.
It has had other tuners fitted at some stage but originals are on there now. All solder is correct and undisturbed, pots and pickups are original but it has been played with the covers off, they are back on there now and there has been no rewinds.
Nice deep dish body, good action on original fretless wonder frets, both pickups sound superb too. Case is good but there is some band sticker on the front and I cannot guarantee the guitar belonged to that band.... maybe it did? Weight is 4.6 Kg.
You will wait a very long time before you see another one of these and they are different to the norm. If this appeals to you then I would not delay as I think it is reasonably priced for what it is and if it is a mahogany top it is the closest thing you will get to a 2 pickup, late 50's Les Paul Custom this side of £40k...
