Gibson / Les Paul Custom / 1978 / Black / Guitar
Probably the finest example of a late 70's Les Paul Custom we have had. Just 2 owners, the last one of 20+ years, tis gleaming, beautiful black LPC could easily be touted about as a 3 year old, not a 38 year old. It is truly near MINT.
100% original in every way, including the factory wide frets that have virtually no wear at all. All solder intact and hardly a screw turned on it anywhere. It just doesn't get much better than this if you are in the market for a 70's Les Paul in the best, classic colour around.
Even the binding has pretty much no fade and is still pretty much bright white like they were when new. There is hardly any wear on the original gold plating - just look at the pickup covers and this guitar is a testament to the care the 2 previous owners took of this. Yes, it was cherished.
Things that stop it being mint - a little bit of clear coat buckle worming on the back, a couple of small dings on the back of the neck, a very small amount of corrosion on the gold plating and some edge wear on the case (not the guitar!) Thats about it.
It is a nice weight of 4.2Kg, is incredibly well set up with a nice, fast action and almost plays itself with it's fast, slick ebony fingerboard.
I don't expect it to hang around for long too at this price...
