Gibson / Les Paul Custom / 1979 / Sunburst / Guitar

This guitar looks the part. Certainly a classic finish for the period, the sunburst has worn so well here really giving this guitar a certain something. Its not been abused and there is no sign of any serious buckle rash on the back.

As with the body, the three piece maple neck shows some signs of use. The grain is wonderfully showcased here. The Ebony fretboard is in great shape as are the frets that have plenty of life left in them. The headstock is in good shape too. As you can see, its a factory second, though as usual with these, you'd be hard pushed to tell what if anything is wrong with the guitar.

The hardware is tarnished with some corrosion visible. This is to be expected and does not affect playability.

Electrically everything is correct and untouched, as you would expect of course. Pots date at week 27 of 1979

The guitar comes with a later Gibson hardshell case.

We are quick to discount Les Pauls from this period as blunt instruments, without some of the finesse of their predecessor. This guitar, though this does weigh in at a reasonable 4.45kgs, is still as dynamic and possesses the tonal gravitas that you've come to expect. By no means a PAF loaded burst, this  guitar has a tone all of its own that doesn’t disappoint.

Looks and tone to die for, what more could you want?
