Gibson / Les Paul Custom Ebony Black Beauty / 1969 / Guitar

Gibson's Les Paul Custom is, next to the Goldtop, the Les Paul in its purest form and as her creator loved to see her, namely with the 'Black Beauty' look that is reminiscent of a tuxedo; classy black with beautiful gold accents.  Since 1950, however, a lot has happened with the original design and she has even been removed from the Gibson lineup. In the 60's however, the Les Paul got a revival due to guitarists like Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Mike Bloomfield. Enough reason for Gibson to breathe new life into the Les Paul and with it the Custom in 1968. In 1969 Gibson changed the design in such a way that the Les Paul would play and sound very different. This Les Paul comes from 1969 but is a very early example which gives her a lot of '68 features. She still consists of a 1-piece mahogany body, a 3-piece mahogany neck with long tenon neck joint and without volute, but she already has the Gibson logo without a dot on the i, an open b and o, which is typical for the '69 Les Pauls. She is completely original, except for a refret, which is actually necessary for Customs to make them playable. The Pat. nr pickups are rich and dynamic, and the bridge pickup is a bit hotter. The pots (with codes 137.69.2) contain 'black beauty' capacitors which together with the soldering have been untouched since she came out of the Gibson factory. She's had a professionaly repaired headstock crack that's hardly visible. There are some other traces that show that the guitar has been used well. There are dings, blemishes and buckle rash on the back, but also features delicious weatherchecking. She comes with original case with yellow interior which is still in very good condition. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
