This is an incredible, first year and very early, Gibson Les Paul Deluxe from late 69 early 1970. It is probably one of the very first to be fitted with the classic mini humbuckers and aside from a recent re-fret, it is 100% original, with no breaks, cracks or any other nasties and is in exceptional condition!
Most of these early mini humbucker equipped LP Deluxes have been converted to P-90's to make them worth more to the unsuspecting buyer but this one. No, thankfully this one escaped al that malarky and is original as it is when it left the Kalamazoo factory in early 1970. It features all 1969 specs and was undoubtedly started in 1969 but didn't get out the door until early '70.
It has no 'Made in USA' on the headstock and has that small mosquito bite volute. 3 piece neck and pancake body. Case is a wonderful condition, original oblong case with yellow lining, same as the 1968 LP's came in.
It has had a recent re-fret by one of the best in the UK and is perfectly well setup and ready to play. Weight is nice for the period at 4.4Kg. All solder is undisturbed and original. No breaks or damage anywhere to be found and the all original classic gold finish is is stunning condition. There are a few small dings here and there plus some buckle rash on the back as you can see in the pictures.
